Product application：P-Toluenesulfonic acid is widely used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, stabilizers for polymerization reactions, catalysts for organic synthesis (esters, etc.), intermediates for coatings, and resin curing agents. It is a commonly used acid catalyst for organic synthesis. Using it to neutralize with sodium hydroxide to obtain sodium p-toluenesulfonate, and then reacting with phosphorus pentachloride to obtain p-toluenesulfonyl chloride. The latter is used in nucleophilic substitution reactions and also as a protective group for alcohol hydroxyl groups. Other uses of p-toluenesulfonic acid include catalyzing dihydrofuran protection groups on alcohols, carboxylic acid esterification, transesterification reactions, and the formation of acetals from aldehydes.
